I went to college near a Civil War battle site. The site is on a mountain, and the view over the valley is so beautiful that many soldiers had photos taken on one of the overlooks after the battle was over. My friends and I went to visit the overlook (now a tourist destination) to see the view for ourselves, and although the area is still magnificent, if you look directly down, there is a Walmart in the middle of all the trees. A hundred and fifty years from now, how many more of the trees will be replaced by gray cinderblock shopping centers?
