Personal memory by Kristian Nicholson
2017 CE • Bayamón, Puerto Rico
"On September 20 Puerto Rico was hit with Hurricane Maria. There were many civilian casualties, but one of things people overlooked was the devastating effect if had on wildlife. A significant amount of forest around my neighborhood turned from a beautiful green vast area to a mud filled almost dessert looking environment, you never realized how close things were until you took the trees away. Now 2 years later we are starting to see the green come back to our forest and slowly but surely recovering the beautiful flora and fauna that we once had."
