Personal memory by Diane Porcella
2013 • Natick, MA, USA
Our backyard in Natick, Massachusetts was not big, but we were small, so it was massive. on most summer nites we chased fireflies. i was home for a big family celebration this summer and wanted to share a firefly catch and release with my little great nephew. he was due to arrive in a few days' time, so i found a mason jar for some practice. 5 summer nites but only 3 firefly sitings....sad. but, lucky us, the little guy's bright delight in feeding the morning birds made us forget the evening's faint flickerings.
