In the last several years the night sky has become so compromised from the overuse/misuse of artificial lighting that it's no longer possible to see any but the brightest of stars. I know the mystery, awe, and beauty is still up there somewhere, but it's lost to most of us, and I miss the wonder and perspective that only a dark sky with star-filled heavens can provide.
