2003Fitzroy Crossing WA, Australia

When I was little, I lived in rural Australia, in a tiny town more than 2000 kilometres from the nearest city. An indigenous family took me and my family on a camping trip I'll always remember. It may seam a simple thing, building a fire, cooking food we caught ourselves and sharing stories, but what made it so special was the stars! Being so far from city lights and pollution allowed all the beauty above to shine down. I'll never forget lying on the ground and looking up at what truly resembled a starry starry night. A sky painted with sparkling lights and so many shades of blue. I was a sensitive little girl who was so captivated, I chose to ignore the mosquitos and stay beneath them for as long as I could. It was truly a wonder I hope everyone can experience.
