With an installed capacity of 3,673 gigawatts as of 2020, "the US is the leading producer of geothermal energy across the world, producing 16.7 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) of geothermal energy throughout the year. The country is home to the world’s biggest geothermal complex, known as the Geysers, which comprises 22 geothermal plants at its base in California."
