Personal memory by Amin López Martínez
1995 • San Cristobal, Mexico
“Starting 15 years ago, in the surrounding area of San Cristobal, deforestation and destruction of forests has become increasingly apparent due to the population growth and the increase of new human populations. Since the Zapatista movement, many indigenous groups were thrown out of their communities and they came to settle in the surrounding areas of San Cristobal. Today rivers are contaminated by drainage and soap.”
