Personal memory by Bob & Nancy Dickinson

One summer there just weren't any monarch butterflies. My wife and I were puzzled, dismayed even after knowing they were diminishing. It's still hard to believe they are no longer coming to our milkweed area which we purposefully left untouched in our front yard. We keep looking, wondering if they will be back. Hoping they will. I always enjoyed their gold rimmed chrysalis and watching them in flight. They have been gone now for many years. I can't remember how long exactly. I think maybe 5 or 6 years now. We miss them. We still look, hoping to see them. It feels sad, empty, like something is missing. We will be llooking, hoping will see them again........
