Personal memory by Suszanne Briseno
1980 CE • Texas, USA
As a kid growing up in Texas and Louisiana, we used to love seeing fireflies, or lightning bugs, as we sometimes called them, at night. Years later, I remember camping in Kentucky and seeing the glowing larvae of fireflies buried just beneath the soil line. It's been 25 years, and I have not seen one since. I miss them.
