“Aristotle reported on the Nile’s many supposed magical properties. He wrote that Nile water boiled in half the time it took other water. He also credited the Nile for the fecundity of Egyptian women, who supposedly often gave birth to twins, and after just eight months. Nile water was even exported to ancient Rome for religious purposes.”
