Personal memory by George Strong
1956 • Castro Valley, CA, USA
As a child in Castro Valley, CA I spent hours carefully catching, lovingly examining, quickly releasing a variety of lizards, snakes, frogs, toads, and salamanders. I found them almost everywhere. After being away for 25 years I returned, but there now are far fewer of virtually all of my old reptile and amphibian friends around. Sadly the same is true of the number and varieties of song birds here.
