Personal memory by Cynthia Bournellis
2012 • Northern California
Wolves in America were once killed to extinction. We brought them back, but they are once again doomed for extinction. The 2011 wolf delisting in Idaho marked the first time in history that Congress statutorily delisted a species under the ESA, removing all Federal protection for wolves in Idaho and Montana. Idaho has killed more than 400 wolves. Wyoming legislature's current plan would classify wolves in near Yellowstone as trophy game, and in the rest of the state as predators to e killed on site. If passed, Wyoming's wolves will see their deaths beginning the end of August 2012. I met a wolf once. He was beautiful, kind, and gentle. I want to meet his relatives again.
