Wide Open Spaces

Personal memory by Allison Struzinski

As a child I traveled a lot with my family. My dad was in the military so it seemed like we had a new place to go about every two years. While not all of the places we went to were in the United States, when we did move someone located in the States we would drive to our new home. When I was a small child I remember driving through areas that were just "open fields". You could see for miles and miles and it seemed like it would never end. As I got older and still moved around I realized that while driving there weren't as many open spaces and I could only see for a few miles. Buildings and factories etc were blocking my view. I think that the most important thing that we are loosing and I see disappearing from the natural world is wide open spaces were you can see for miles.
