Personal memory by Stefanie Mabadi
2001 CE • Moline, IL, USA
For the first time, I stood on the banks of the Mississippi River. I was with my mom. We had traveled from Evanston to Moline to pick up a puppy I'd purchased as a gift for my brother. The river looked high - very close to the level of the shore. I was shocked because the land was so flat. Therefore a flood would be wide-reaching. She was quite grand, as well. Wide and powerful.
