Personal memory by T. French Adams

I grew up in a neighborhood in Southeast Missouri. Across the street from my home was an empty lot that had a back border lined with trees. I, along with the neighborhood kids, would play baseball there on the weekends. One day I roamed the tree line and found a milk carton someone had discarded. Roaming inside the carton was a snail. I was in awe of this little creature with a shell. I watched it crawl and then carefully placed it back where I had found it. It was the first and last time I've seen a snail.
