Personal memory by Taiona Chandler

I used to live in Paterson when I was in kindergarten, and I would always walk to get ice cream a few blocks down from east 33rd street. The walk was always beautiful and it seemed to be balanced with trees and houses. One day we started taking a new route and I noticed that we lived near a couple of factories that had terrible fumes coming out of it and everything near it looked nearly dead.Last time I visited it seemed like the air looked more polluted and more buildings were added, I understand that we have to create things for everyone. But when the trees and the ocean go away, what are we going to do then ?
