Personal memory by Pamela V

I lived in a beautiful place for 10 years. I remember how lively it was with critters that resided within the forests there (deer, frogs, turtles, skunks, squirrels, various birds, etc.). I recall families of deer emerging from the forests nearby. At night, millions of frogs would sing me to sleep (or so it seemed). Today, the forest in which the deer would merge is no longer. A BJ's and movie theater have taken their home and covered it with a huge gravel parking lot; half of which doesn't get used. Frogs aren't as plenty. The nights seem to be a battle between the nearby highway and the frogs. The highway is winning.
