The Trashed Piece Of Heaven

When I was young, my friend and I explored a local park and found a hidden path. We jumped onto rocks to cross a small stream, and then used a tree that grew into the side of a dirt wall to climb until we reached the top of that dirt wall. From there we followed a very narrow break in the bushes until we came across the pond that the stream ran into. Frogs, water snakes, and birds used this pond which was clear enough to see the pebbled bottom. My friend and I went home to tell our siblings, who told their friends, who told their friends, who told theirs. Eventually, word got out about this really beautiful, secret place. Unfortunately, local teenagers began using this as a party spot. Every time my friend and I went, there'd be broken beer bottles, tossed needles, and trash everywhere. Over time the stream and water got so polluted that the birds, frogs, and snakes went elsewhere. Nowadays the bottom of the pond cannot be seen, the stream doesn't run as smoothly due to the trash, and it's often staked out by police officers.
