Personal memory by Jaime Santana
2005 • Gurabo, Puerto Rico
I come from a very rural area of Puerto Rico. The night was infested with auditory magic. From the rustling of the palm trees, the coquis, the cricket; it was such a lullaby. Now I live in the city, which to a degree is what I always wanted, but for the longest of time, it was impossible for me to sleep with the sound of silence. I wish I could spend my evenings back home and the mornings in the city, as nothing compares to the nighttime songs of the waves.
