Personal memory by Sam
2010 • Texas, USA
In the area around the small town where I grew up, we were surrounded by the Sabine River, a river that separates Texas from Louisiana. I could remember swimming in it when I was young, but as the years went on and the pollution levels rose and road construction became the norm, I began to see the river around my town less and less. Eventually, by the time I began high school, the river was more of a small trickle, and it only existed in my memories. Obviously, the Sabine River everywhere else is still there, and sometimes when the rain is strong it comes back a bit, but overall, it is as if it never existed.
