For a few years, I lived by the beach in North Carolina. I was fortunate enough to witness sea turtles lay their eggs, and a few months later hatch. The sea turtles are becoming more and more rare to see in North Carolina, due to them being endangered. Over the years that I lived there, I saw fewer and fewer nests being laid.
