"Scientists believe that about 16 million salmon returned each year to spawn in the native streams throughout the Columbia river basin. Today annual runs of wild salmon have declined to about 3% of their historic abundance. A 1991 report by the American Fisheries Society indicated that 214 of about 400 stocks of salmon, steelhead, and sea–run cutthroat trout in the Northwest and California are at risk of extinction and 106 are already extinct."
Only choose MSC-certified salmon raised or caught in a sustainable manner. Allow rivers to flow freely to the sea.
