Personal memory by Chad Fields

Not long for this world, the North American Red Wolf has more obstacles to its very existence than it has conducive to survival. Rapid human expansion, deforestation, roads, and the cultivating of land has led to rare sightings of this almost ghost like animal. I have had the esteemed privilege of witnessing them in real life, and I often wonder if one day we will tell our children, “I remember when I used to see wolves in my back yard.” It is with a heavy heart I say that we most likely will one day see the last red wolf.
