Personal memory by Martin
1992 • Ohrid, North Macedonia
Lake Ohrid is one of the oldest in the world, 3-5 million years old, and the deepest in the Balkans, with a maximum depth of 288m. Ohrid is probably the most bio diverse lake on Earth. While it is special as such, by far the most spectacular quality is its impressive endemism, for example, a third of the 21 native fish species and almost 80% of its 72 mollusk species are endemic.
