I lived in Florianópolis for the first time when I was 7, I lived pretty close to the beach, in my school the teachers would teach us PE at the beach. I remember how clean the water was and how much fun I would have there. I went back to live in this island in 2012, I missed it so much, but when I went to the beach that I had so many great memories of, all I could see was trash and dead fish. That image struck me, so many dead fish everywhere, the smell of the water was horrible and the people around me were acting as if it was normal, they were even throwing trash at the water as if that is why the sea is there. I don't know what that beach or who those people were, but certainly, it was not the beach that I grew up playing on, not anymore...
