Personal memory by Jo Fairbrother

When I grew up in Noordhoek in the 80's I remember every winter there were always thousands (possibly hundreds of thousands) of frogs on the move. It was the Western Leopard Toad on a mass migration for breeding season. They were just everywhere, especially in the roads where it would be impossible not to drive over them. Now a sparse handful still arrive every season, but with our expanding city there are very few.
