When I was young, lightning bugs were a sign that summer was here. My sister and I used to stay out at night and catch them. We would cup them in our hands. For a moment we would hold light. The reason for lightning bugs being so fascinating was because of their lit behinds. Some years passed, we noticed that there weren't any one lightning bugs. We forgot about them after that. Until one day, I glimpsed a distracting light in the side peripheral of my eye sight. It was a lightning bug! Not as many I would hope, but a few. Where's the rest of them?
