Standing at seven feet tall at the shoulders, the Irish Elk was one of the largest deer that ever lived. Its antlers weighed nearly 90 lbs. The range of the Irish Elk extended across Eurasia and folk memories are preserved in Middle German and Middle Irish dialects.
