Personal memory by Tom

The boundary parries just south of Chicago were one of my grandparent's favorite places to visit. When I was younger they'd take me to the plains and I can remember thinking that the grasslands stretched on forever. I still can't believe that such a large expanse of land remains protected just south of the city but, unfortunately there are still about 60 acres that remain under threat. Hopefully someday soon the rest of the Prairies become part of the reserve so my children and grandchildren can enjoy the area as I did.
