Personal memory by Kathleen

When I was 5 and younger my parents used to take me to ice skate on the Hudson River. By the mid-90s, it had stopped freezing over solid enough to skate on. My mother grew up in Toronto, Canada, and "used to skate to school" in the winter, or on ponds in her neighborhood. She wanted me to have that experience , but I had to skate the ice rinks, or rollerblades.
