Growing up in India, I never noticed the house sparrow because they were everywhere. One would wake up to the chirping of sparrows, find nests all around homes, and take them for granted. As of 2011, they are simply gone. It's heartbreaking! They are nowhere to be found, particularly in many urban areas. In Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and other cities.
