Great concern amongst all about the rapid rate of deforestation and how it will effect the raptor migration that travels through here.To the question everyone mentioned HABITAT.During the raptor migration in 1987 they started to recognize what was knowledge to the locals — that a significant number of raptors and other birds were migrating through the area. Over 4 million raptors migrate annually through this area due to the thermals and the mountains directly to the east. The raptors migrate during the day — the songbirds at night.
