Personal memory by Pooya Soltani
There is a kind of caterpillar in Iran, the people in Shiraz have a special name for it: the Gorbe-Nowroozi. It literally means the cat of the Zoroastrian new year. Starting at the new year in Iran, I would see a lot of Gorbe-Noroozi everywhere, in big groups scattered on the ground. A traditional fun hobby of Shirazi children was to collect them during the holiday break. We used to keep them in a match box. The special thing about them is that when they feel danger, they would curl up. They would turn into butterflies later. I miss my childhood. It's been a while since I have seen any. They feel like they are just a phantom image of my childhood.
