Personal memory by Ellora Praharaj

My dad's ancestral home is a little village in India that used to have plentiful water flowing through a canal. It used to abound in fish, shrimp, was used as a waterway and for irrigation. With deforestation and drought, the water's flow has reduced, fish are scarce, the boats are grounded and the rice paddies are drying up. I wish we could figure out a way to channel swollen rivers that cause flooding to drought striken areas.
