Personal memory by Yi Liao
2005 • Shenzhen, Guangdong, China
I have seen the fireflies in the city where I have lived. In the summer night, under the banyan tree at the roadside, many little lights were dancing in the air, like the stars falling to the ground. It was the first time I saw the fireflies when I was six years old. It was really beautiful. As a result, I was looking forward to the summer. However, Shenzhen is a fast-growing city, so there have been gradually less and less trees, since then, I have never seen fireflies. I think they are not gone, they just go to a better place to live.
