Personal memory by Melissa Jenks

I remember when my grandparents' yard was full of fireflies, the entire nighttime grass full of them. Blinking. We would catch them in jars. Now, in the summer, I look out at our yard and I'm lucky to see one firefly blinking. I point it out to my daughter. I'm glad she gets to see one. But there aren't as many as there used to be. I wonder if there will be any for her children to see.
