When we were kids on Seneca Lake, hanging out and bored in the middle of the summer, we would go out to the creeks feeding the lake and catch crayfish just for fun. Anytime, any creek. I look for them often now, but haven't seen a crayfish in any of the creeks for well over 20 years.
