Black Mamo

Extinct circa 1907 CEMolokai

"I saw three adult males of this bird in one low bush passing from flower to flower and spending only a few seconds over each. These were very tame and I was also to watch their movements in this and neighbouring bushes for at least an hour. Even those flowers which were at a height of no more than a foot from the ground were carefully explored."
