"This particular 'o'o species may not have been restricted to Molokai and it perhaps inhabited the nearby island of Maui. H.W. Henshaw recorded seeing a single adult male in the forest stretching northeast of Olinda at an altitude of 1,375m (4,500 ft.) in June 1901."
